A Journey of a Lifetime

"By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going." Hebrews 11:8 (NIV)

Did you know that as followers of Christ, we are on a journey for a lifetime?  This journey is filled with lots of twists, turns, ups, downs and unknowns.  But is also filled with many blessings in between and along the way.

Just like Abraham had to wait for "later"  to receive his inheritance, we have to wait til "later" for ours also.  Abraham's inheritance included  being the  nation chosen by God and blessed by God. Our inheritance gives us the pleasure and privilege of spending an eternity with our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.  Wow, who can top that?  Nothing or no one else.  So why do we let ourselves get bogged down and discouraged on our journey now? 

The one thing I do know is that when we do lose focus, all we have to do is look up; just like the Israelites, into the hills where our help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.  The same Maker who promises not to let our foot slip- and watches over us when we slumber.  (Psalm 121:1-3)

Set your eyes and heart on our faithful Lord and Savior.  He's promised to journey with us and it's an inheritance worth waiting a lifetime for!!!

 Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you, I have called you by name; you are mine.  When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with yu.  When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown!  Isaiah 43:1-2 

Wow!  Thank you God for those great promises...  Don't get discouraged, God has promised that although pain is a part of life, He will turn every tear into joy, and will use our deepest pains for a divine purpose.
