The governor of New Mexico recently decided that ALL summer programs, including youth camps, have special COVID guidelines. All summer programs must operate at 30% capacity, which means Glorieta Conference Center will be running on a skeleton crew, and as a result, many free time options will be closed. In addition, all attendees must wear a mask at all times (unless you are in your room). In light of these guidelines, I have decided to back out of Glorieta.
Over the last two weeks, I checked with eight other camps, and none could accommodate our group due to capacity restrictions. I book summer camp a year in advance, so it is not easy to find space for a large group a few months out!
There will be two different trips in place of Glorieta: One for high school students (completed 8th-completed 12th) and one for middle school students (completed 6th-completed 7th)
High School Students (Completed 8th-Completed 12th)
The trip dates for high school students have not changed much at all. We will leave The Heights Fellowship on Sunday, July 11th, and go to San Antonio. We will be staying in a hotel right on the River Walk! The trip includes a River Walk cruise, a scavenger hunt, an escape room, good restaurants, and Sea World/Aquatica! Every evening, our group will have worship and Bible study. We will leave San Antonio on the morning of Wednesday, July 14th. And the good news is that the base price of $375 will not change! Students will need to bring additional money for a few fast-food meals (and optional spending money), but the base price covers everything else! If you do not want your high school student to go on this trip, you can back out and receive a full refund until Tuesday, May 25th. There will be a meeting on Sunday, June 27th at 10:45 AM in The Summit at The Heights Fellowship for the parents of students going on the high school trip.
MS STUDENTS (Completed 6th-Completed 7th)
We will leave The Heights Fellowship the morning of Tuesday, August 3rd, and head to Camp Eagle in Rocksprings, TX. The price of $375 per student will not change! We will return on Saturday, August 7th. I hope your students can attend camp on these new dates. If not, you will receive a full refund! Please let me know by Tuesday, May 25th. There will be a meeting on Sunday, July 25th at 10:45 AM in The Summit at The Heights Fellowship for the parents of students going to middle school camp.
If you have any questions at all, please reach out to me. I’m sorry that our original plan didn’t work out. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding!
